The International Benedictine Network of School Principals met in Rome during May 2016 for a conference on Benedictine Education.
Altogether 170 delegates from 21 countries from all the continents attended. The IHS principal, Mrs Steenkamp, attended together with 15 delegates from Benedictine schools in Africa. South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Rwanda were represented.
The two keynote speakers were from Universities in Switzerland and Italy. In depth discussions on all the aspects of providing excellent education at Benedictine schools took place and valuable insight was gained by all the delegates. Best practices were also shared by the delegates.
All principals left the conference spiritually enriched and encouraged to make our Benedictine schools truly schools in the service of the Lord
